Dave Honeyman - Lead Guide

Summer guiding

Originally from Eastern Canada, owner/ operator DK (Dave) Honeyman has made the Canadian National Mountain Parks his home base for over 30 years. While employed seasonally in Jasper Park for 8 summers in the early 1980's, he climbed, biked and hiked to every corner of the park. Environment Canada Parks afforded him time to wander the North and South boundary trails, ascend the big peaks and further explore the northern Rockies side valleys.

Winter skiing then took him to the Banff National Park area where summers were spent with quality time getting to know Banff, Kootenay, Yoho and Lake Louise; climbing and hiking in the southern Rockies main range.

International trekking and mountaineering expeditions have included visiting regions of the Nepal Himal, the Alps, the American South West and North Wales, in addition to further exploration of our Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Winter coaching

A career ski professional, Dave is a CSIA* and CSCF* course conductor and is a past recipient of the Canadian Ski Coach of the Year award. Honeyman has successfully run programs and coached at the club, provincial, national and international levels. Athletes and coaches have benefitted from his expertise; with a proven track record as many of his skiers are now working and/or competing full time in the industry.

Past accomplishments includes a ten year term as Program Director of the Banff Alpine Racers; Head Coach of the Canadian National Disabled Alpine Ski Team; Snow School Director at Marmot Basin in Jasper and more recently as the Assistant Director of Ski Banff Lake Louise Sunshine (Ski Big 3) coordinating the lesson program and training the instructors.

These days on snow work time is spent training the trainers …

Will Honeyman - Media Coordinator

His first video at age 15 was shot in Mt. Assiniboine and Banff National Parks where he used a Go Pro under water off the end of a fishing rod to film rainbow trout. Will’s still photography currently is predominately outdoor adventure and wild life.  Based in Canmore AB, he was recently accepted to the Whyte museum of the Canadian Rockies ‘Through the Lens’ program.

Kai Honeyman - Apprentice-in-Training

One could say being born here makes you about as local as you can be. Like "Brother Will" Kai plays a supporting role on most pre and post season site inspections. Already an avid skier, camping and bird watching are Kai's favorite outdoor past times

Media

Video and photography enjoyed on these web pages and on our social media sites are a result of William’s efforts along with a handful of clients and friends who have contributed both as models and with their pictures.  Most of the video was shot in the field with clients and on personal outings.  Editing of the video is exclusively Will’s accomplishment.

Many thanks to you all!
